What are Live Wallpapers?
Live Wallpapers are interactive wallpapers you can make using GameMaker that users can apply as their GX browser home background and as their desktop background. Check some of them out here in GX.store.
We recently launched an exciting new feature that allows Live Wallpapers to subscribe to system metrics, such as: CPU & GPU clock speed(s), RAM usage, audio output frequencies, and more. Read more about that here or watch our video over at YouTube.
Rules
By participating in the Live Wallpapers Jam, you agree to the following terms:
- Submitted Live Wallpaper assets must be 100% created by the participants.
- The Live Wallpaper must be made using GameMaker. NOTE: Beta version 2024.400.x > required
- The Live Wallpaper must adhere to the theme, which will be revealed on 18th Apr 2024.
- The Live Wallpaper must make use of the new Live Wallpaper system metrics feature.
- The Live Wallpaper must be uploaded to the GX.store before 2nd May 2024.
- Live Wallpapers must be uploaded to GX.store with an appropriate “Live Wallpaper Jam” tag.
- Live Wallpapers using licenced characters, music or visuals will not be accepted.
- Live Wallpapers with themes of illegal activities, racism, sexism, homophobia, or other forms of bullying will not be accepted.
- The use of AI art is heavily discouraged for this jam and any Live Wallpaper that uses generated AI art will not be considered for a prize.
